Celebration of Canadian talent at the 2024 Palm Springs International Film Festival

On January 12, 2024, Telefilm Canada, the Talent Fund, along with Paul & Carol Hill, and the Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles, hosted a celebratory reception, in honour of Canadian talent at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, followed by a special screening of BLACKBERRY. Friends and supporters of the Talent Fund gathered to meet with Canadian filmmakers and industry partners.

Telefilm Canada hosts Kajsa Erickson and Ken Proulx were happy to welcome guests which included Matt Johnson (director, Blackberry), Matthew Miller (writer-producer, Blackberry), Glenn Howerton(lead actor, Blackberry), Niv Fichman (Rhombus Media), Danielle Freiberg (IFC Films), Zaib Shaikh (Consul General of Canada in Los Angeles), Matt Oppenheimer and Jonathan Ruta(Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles), Nachhattar Singh Chandi(Chairman of the Palm Springs International Film Festival), Carol R. Hill (Talent Fund Advisory Committee) and Paul Hill, Valerie Creighton (CEO, Canada Media Fund), Alison Clayton (Canada Media Fund, board member), David Ruiz (Quebec Government Office in Los Angeles), filmmakers Pascal Plante (director, Les Chambres Rouges), Pier-Philippe Chevigny (director, Richelieu), and many Talent Fund donors.
